Biomas Collection
Biomas is MooMoo's first collection with a lot of inspiration from nature and is MooMoo's tribute to Brazil.
Brazilian fauna and flora are represented in our prints with icons and characteristics of each Biome.
We chose to celebrate having fun with the animals and plants that surround us in order to spread a message of conservation.
The Caatinga , a typical ecosystem of the northeastern hinterland with a semi-arid climate, is represented by small trees, dry vegetation and cacti.
The name Caatinga means “white forest” in Tupi Guarani and the region is home to a large number of Brazilian fauna species, such as the Gavião do Sertão bird of prey illustrated in our print.
The Amazon is an important biome that is home to more than 30 thousand species of plants and represents the greatest biodiversity on the planet. Many environmental problems create an imbalance in the ecosystem, which has already lost more than 20% of its area due to deforestation. Inspired by the importance of preserving the world's lungs, MooMoo created its print with macaws and tropical vegetation dedicated to raising awareness and concern for this Biome.
The Cerrado is the second largest Brazilian biome and its vegetation is characterized by twisted trunks, thick leaves, shrubs and small trees. As it is the habitat of countless species, it is greatly affected by animal trafficking. One of the victims is the toucan, represented in our print together with the golden grass, trunks and dry leaves typical of the region.
The Atlantic Forest occupies the coastal strip from north to south of Brazil. Currently, vegetation accounts for only 7% of the original forest due to environmental degradation.
Our print is represented by the sloth, bromeliad leaves, brazilwood and jacaranda trees.
The Atlantic Ocean permeates the entire Brazilian coast and is an aquatic ecosystem that has been suffering from water pollution, excessive fishing, mineral exploitation and the consequent loss of plant and animal species. Climate change is also affecting the ocean level which needs our care and awareness.
The print is represented by puffer fish, seaweed and endangered coral reefs.
